Andrew has worked in the Social Housing sector for over 20 years, prior to which he was an electrician and subsequently a Youth Worker for Essex County Council where he qualified as a professional Youth and Community worker. Andrew started his career in housing as the Manager at Brentwood Foyer, a housing project for young people. Over his career he has held many positions in the housing sector and now works as a Development Manager delivering new affordable homes in the East of England.
Andrew has previously been a Governor of a Primary School for 13 years and Chair of Governors for 5 years.

Brian is a professional chemist specialising in food flavouring and has worked in the food flavouring industry for many years. Recently he has set up his own consultancy.

Barry is an experienced lawyer with specialisms in education and employment law, who has recently retired from his senior partner post in a local law firm and now sits on various tribunals

Roger has spent 45 years in education with over 15 years’ experience as Head in three different schools. He was head of Essex School Improvement Services and Head of Strategic Development as well as having trained as an OfSTED Inspector. He is the independent Chair of both the Harlow Education Trust and Lewisham Learning and an External Tutor for Essex Teacher Training. He continues to undertake a range of consultancy work with both primary and secondary schools, as well as being a Trustee and a Governor.

David worked in industry for over 30 years with Ford Motor Company and held management positions in Business Planning, Project Management and Engineering both in the UK and the US. Last position, before taking early retirement, was Manager of Powertrain Engineering for Small Cars in Europe.
He has been on the Board of Colchester Institute for a number of years.

Trevor came into School Governance shortly after taking early retirement from the UK Gas Industry, where he held numerous Operational and Management posts, both locally and nationally, over a period of 26 years.

Rob has been Headteacher at The Ramsey Academy since September 2014.
He has over 30 years teaching experience and held various roles on Senior Leadership Teams in schools for 20 years. He has worked in a variety of education institutions, including a selective grammar school, sixth form college and a number of secondary schools. He is a Local Leader of Education and an Ofsted Inspector for primary and secondary provision.
Rob has extensive experience in the roles of Chair of Examiners and Chief Examiner for A Level Physical Education for a major examination board. This includes constructing and writing specifications, writing and reviewing examination papers and standardising Senior Examiners. He has also co-authored a number of textbooks, developed CPD materials and delivered professional development courses in the UK and abroad.

Angie spent fifteen years as a successful Deputy and Headteacher in separate primary schools in Essex. She then joined the Local Authority as a Senior School Development Adviser and, subsequently, a School Improvement Partner.
From 2012 Angie became an independent consultant, supporting school leaders and governing bodies in Essex and beyond.

Cherie Root was previously a parent governor at Ramsey Academy for four years. She became a governor to work with staff, teachers, students and parents to support the delivery of an excellent learning environment for students. Cherie currently works as a Director for the local District Council where she has worked for the last 22 years.

Susannah Edom-Baker has worked in education for forty years in primary, middle and secondary schools. Her leadership experience includes two deputy headships, two headships, advisory work for London Borough of Havening, work as an OFSTED inspector and leader of a three year programme of school improvement for Essex County Council in partnership with Essex County Council and Edison Learning. Susannah is currently director of the Chelmsford Teaching Schools Alliance and CEO of Attain Academy Partnership in Chelmsford. Susannah is a National Leader of Education.

Gary runs a successful local business specialising in laboratory equipment and fitting.

Sarah-Jane is a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) with 20 years of experience, specialising in Manufacturing and Technology sectors, working for Ford Motor Company, Raytheon Systems Ltd and FlaktGroup. She has broad finance experience having held technical Accounting & Tax, Treasury, Audit and Financial Controller leadership positions. During her career, Sarah-Jane has served as Company Ethics Officer, has extensive budgeting and forecasting experience and held roles at Board Level.
Sarah-Jane is the UK Finance Director for Flakt Woods part of the FlaktGroup.
